ASTRO BOY

I wanted to show Gabriel (my oldest son, seven years) something I saw during my early adolescence, and downloaded the fifty-one episodes of Astro Boy . In the end, I turned to engage, I had forgotten Tezuka humor, and did not know that the adventures of robot child in the fight against Atlas had much to tell an adult. Astro Boy was created as a manga in 1952, reappeared as a series of white television black and during the sixties, and was redesigned by Tezuka in the eighties, in color. They say the black and white version is the best, I saw the eighties. The drawings are rather primitive, the characters sketchy, but Tezuka's vision of a world where robots coexist with human beings is full of nuances and allusions that make it increasingly topical.
